Chinatown: Five Idols
The image on all the postcards on this page is Taber B 2699, "Chinatown, S.F. Cal. The Five Idols in the Holy of Holies in the Joss Temple of Long Gong", © 1887 by I.W. Taber. The original photo is likely by Carleton Watkins; Taber acquired Watkins' glass plate negatives in 1881. None of the postcards credit Taber.

- Goeggel & Weidner 35, postmarked SF 5/28/1903. Goeggel & Weidner credit, AutoChrom logo, no 'California' top right, undivided back. Some Goeggel & Weidner cards indicate "Copyright Goeggel & Weidner, Publishers" (e.g., Goeggel & Weidner 1), but this just credits "Goeggel & Weidner, Publishers", perhaps because of the Taber copyright. The other Weidner cards above credit "Charles Weidner, Photographer", even though Weidner was not the photographer of this image.
- Weidner 35, stock number typo '85' for '35', Weidner credit front left, AutoChrom logo, undivided back, caption "... in Holy of Holies..." rather than "... in the Holy of Holies...".
- Weidner 35, postmarked SF 12/21/1908. Weidner credit front left, no AutoChrom logo, post-quake caption added, undivided back.
- Weidner 35, credit moved to back, post-quake caption, divided back.
