Jacob Solomon Katz (1/05/1883 - 6/16/1955), called Sol, was the maternal grandfather of Bari Stolmack Ness. He was born in Poland, married Bessie Katz in 1902, and came to the US in 1909. His wife and their first three sons (Sam, Max and Isadore) joined him in Chicago in 1913, where they had four more children (Allen, Sally, Molly, and Minnie).
