P. Norman Ness
To date I've found 1910, 1920, and 1940 census records for P. Norman Ness (no 1930); see the page of his father Anton Ness for the 1910 and 1920 records. Norman was born in Hampden ND in 1905, but by 1910 his family had moved to Starbuck MN, where his dad Anton managed the lumberyard. Norman attended high school in Morris MN (near Starbuck) and then moved to Minneapolis. After he married Eleanor in 1935, they lived in the upper unit of Emma and John Swanson's duplex at 2516 West 22nd Street, Minneapolis; in 1940 he is listed as "grain buyer" (for International Milling Co.). I've kept the transcribed 1940 listings for the Swansons as well as for the immediate neighboors.
