Left: Weidner 136, AutoChrom logo, undivided back, postmarked SF 11/23/1904. Center: Weidner 136, no AutoChrom logo, undivided back, postmarked SF 11/05/yyyy (postmark year missing), ca. 1904-1907. Weidner Catalog shows one additional Weidner 136 variant (divided back). Right: Britton & Rey 552, undivided back, postmarked SF 12/28/1905; an earlier example is postmarked SF 11/04/1904. These cards use the same image. Most details are identical, but Britton & Rey adds the Dutch Windmill (completed 1902) and adds flags on the Pavillion flagpoles, absent in the Weidner. All show the Swiss Chalet (built 1900) on the west side of Ocean Boulevard (now Great Highway), opposite the later location of the Beach Chalet, and none shows the Murphy Windmill (completed 1905). I believe the original photo is by Weidner ca. 1901, predating the Dutch Windmill.
