.lastlogin -- System Administration

Record of last login
$HOME/.lastlogin

The command  login records in  file $HOME/.lastlogin the date  and time you
last logged in.  login displays the information the next time you log in.

If this file  does not exist login assumes that  you are a new user, and by
default   executes   the  file   /etc/default/welcome.   This  provides   a
``friendly'' environment  for users  who are  using COHERENT for  the first
time.
