ASHEAD -- Environmental Variable

Append options to beginning of as command line
export ASHEAD=options

The  COHERENT assembler  as reads  the  environmental variables  ASHEAD and
ASTAIL before it begins its work.   You can set these variables to hold the
default options that you want the assembler always to use.

as appends the options in ASHEAD to the beginning of its command line.
