Hotels: California Hotel
The California Hotel was on Bush between Grant and Geary. The cupola of the hotel collapsed in the 1906 earthquake, killing SFFD chief engineer Dennis Sullivan who was asleep on the third floor of the adjacent SFFD fire station. The hotel was destroyed in the subsequent fire.
