This page lists 29 films I saw in theaters in 1965. My movie database lists only films I see in theaters, not those I see on TV, videotape, DVD, or the internet. My culture page lists other cultural events.

I reconstructed this 1965 list ex post facto in 2016 from my old datebooks. A wonderful year to look back on, and I'm surprised in retrospect by the size of this list. Bogart at the Brattle during reading period was a Harvard tradition, and I regularly attended German movies presented by Verein Turmwächter (the Harvard German club) too. I loved Fellini from the start, though I loved 8 1/2 much more then than I do now. I didn't know who Stanley Kubrick was yet in 1965, but I remember sitting in stunned silence at the end of Dr. Strangelove. And Richard Lester's wonderful Beatles movies, such fun!

I have kept movie date/title/director data consistently since 1982, with additional details since 2010. I also have some incomplete data from earlier years.
