From PNN Cavalcade tray #5, label "Biloxi - NewDRL (?) / Cairo", no date. Date: Feb. or March 1955. Location: Cairo, IL after auto accident. Accident scenario: PNN was driving, SAN/ERN in front seat, DN in back seat, southbbund toward Biloxi MS on vacation. After passing Cairo, in Kentucky, our Buick was hit bit a northbound car with a driver who fell asleep. PNN hit the steering wheel and broke a couple ribs, SAN went through the windshield (pre-seatbelts!) and received stitches on the chin and upper left temple (and a black eye), ERN braced herself for the oncoming collision and dislocated her hip, and DN skinned his toe. SAN and ERN were hospitalized, DN returned to school in Minneapolis.
