Joseph Stolmack

Joseph Stolmack was H. William Stolmack's paternal grandfather. To date I've found 1900, 1910, and 1920 census data for Joseph and his family. The records are inconsistent re birth and marriage dates: Joseph was born 1860/1858/1862 and Dora 1859/1858/1860 per 1900/1910/1920 records; both were born in Poland. They married ca. 1877. Joseph emigrated 1886 or 1887 and was naturalized before 1900. Dora emigrated 1890, ca. 4 years after Joseph. The 1900 census lists Dora as the mother of 10 children, 3 living; 12 children, 3 living in 1910. I have no information about the third living child; presumably he or she is older than Isaac Samuel, not younger, so likely born 1876-1892.

In 1900, Joseph was a shoemaker, renting at 185 Bridge Street in Ashtabula OH with Dora and sons Isaac (Isaac Samuel) and Victor, both born in Ohio.

In 1910, Joseph was keeper of a junk shop, renting at 174 Bridge Street in Ashtabula with Dora and their two sons.

In 1920, Joe lived at 8 Williams Street in Ashtabula with Dora and Victor; son Isaac Samuel no longer lived with his parents. Joe was a wholesale/retail junk dealer and son Victor was a railroad yard foreman.
