1 Introduction

On this page, you'll find links to all the videos I use in my AMS paper (these videos are marked with an asterisk *), as well as many related bonus videos. [Keyboard examples with bracketed titles] are examples I designed to illustrate the tuning of a particular microtonal keyboard.

2 Technical Details

I used the following software to make the videos.

The Python scripting language
- Python Imaging Library (PIL), to draw frames
- Audiolab, to produce short sound files
GraphicConverter, to manipulate Zarlino's diagrams
Command line utilities
- ImageMagick, to stitch together two images (for each frame of each animation of Zarlino's diagrams)
- SoX, to combine short sound files into longer soundtracks
- FFmpeg, to sequence frames into an animation and add the soundtrack
